Influence of Core Temperature on Psychomotor Performance during Cold Weather Military Training
نویسندگان
چکیده
Purpose: Cold environments may deteriorate psychomotor performance due to slowing of neuronal signals, distractions caused by pain and discomfort, a loss manual dexterity. The extent which core temperature (Tc) influences in the cold has not been established. Therefore, Tc were assessed during weather military training exercise evaluate this relationship.

Health and performance challenges during sports training and competition in cold weather.
Olympic athletes compete and train in diverse cold-weather environments, generally without adverse effects. However, the nature of some sports may increase the risk of cold injuries. This paper provides guidance to enable competition organisers and officials, coaches and athletes to avoid cold-weather injuries. This paper will (1) define potential cold-weather injuries during training and compe...
متن کاملEffect of Antifreeze Admixtures on Cold Weather Concrete
Kashmir is located in a region where winter temperatures are very low. During the winter months, the temperature in Kashmir is often below 0⁰ C. Generally concrete placed in colder regions with the help of insulated forms as well as heaters to protect freshly mixed concrete against freezing. These practices try to incorporate unnecessary carbon and leads to an disagreeable carbon footprint. The...
متن کاملIncidence of injury and physical performance adaptations during military training.
OBJECTIVE Strenuous physical activity, such as military training, is known to demand a high degree of physical performance and to cause overuse injuries. However, the exact relation between injury incidence and physical fitness level and the influence of military training on measures of functional performance, such as intermittent endurance capacity and maximal jump performance, are not fully d...

OBJECTIVE To determine core temperature (Tc) elevations in hazardous materials (HazMat) technicians wearing level-A fully encapsulated, chemically resistive suits (FECRSs) during training scenarios. DESIGN Cross-sectional, observational feasibility study with Institutional Review Board approval. SETTING HazMat training scenarios held during the summer of 1994. Weather conditions included bo...
متن کاملEvaluation of two cold thermoregulatory models for prediction of core temperature during exercise in cold water.
Cold thermoregulatory models (CTM) have primarily been developed to predict core temperature (T(core)) responses during sedentary immersion. Few studies have examined their efficacy to predict T(core) during exercise cold exposure. The purpose of this study was to compare observed T(core) responses during exercise in cold water with the predicted T(core) from a three-cylinder (3-CTM) and a six-...
